The Williamstown Open Water Championship – “The WOW Challenge” is Victoria’s world class, championship distance, open water swim event. The WOW Challenge is for everyone – champions, weekend warriors, kids, multiclass, fast, slow, young and old!

Past winners at Williamstown include 2015 World Champion Jordan Wilimovsky, Team USA’s Katy Campbell,  Australian Dolphin Sam Sheppard and Brazilian Olympian Lisandra De Carvalho.

The WOW Challenge is swum at Williamstown Beach on our famous championship 2.5Km course. The course is a deep water start and almost straight out for 500m. A right turn brings swimmers onto the legendary WOW Back Straight. For 1km swimmers follow NEW numbered hi-visibility buoys and 2m-high yellow inflatable cubes toward Altona, before turning back over The Crystal area. Coming east, swimmers turn left after the Rock Groyne and back to the beach area, feeding station or finish arch on the sand.

Goggle Project is pleased to be associated with this great event and will be there to collect any unwanted goggles which will be distributed across the globe to young kids who have never had the opportunity to see the wonders of underwater.
